At the December 9 House meeting the representatives gave a resounding endorsement, 160 yes to 20 no, to support the financial restructuring of the union in the BFFF Campaign. The campaign will build a fully funded UTLA, and help provide more resources to support school site organizing and parent/community engagement. It will allow increased legal protection to UTLA members through CTA Group Legal Services, and erase our structural deficit. We will add more school site support, support for grievance processing, community organizing and campaigns to achieve the schools LA students deserve. With the plan we will launch a major public relations and media campaign to counter the anti-educator narrative funded by the billionaires and corporate privatizers.
